Time 4 Learning

Hi, everyone!

I am very excited to share with you my experience with homeschooling.  I have tried many different methods of homeschooling,  online public school, charlotte Mason, and even unschooling.  I really like unschooling, I think it benefits our family very well, but I have a variety of different personalities in the school age group here at home and sometimes one thing does not work for the rest.

In my search for a curriculum that benefits my family, I have been invited to try time4learning for one month in exchange for a candid review. My opinion will be entirely my own, so come back and be sure to read my experience.  Time4Learning can be used as a homeschool curriculum, for after school enrichment and for summer skill sharpening.  Find out how to write your own curriculum review for Time4Learning.

I am excited to see what this program is about!

Homeschooling

Homeschooling is such an adventure with 6 kids.  I love homeschooling.  I have tried many different ideas on homeschooling, from unschooling to online public homeschool.  All have had their benefits, but what we are trying to accomplish is a way of teaching and learning that encourages a love of learning.  I am not concerned about what my children become as long as they are always learning, always growing, always becoming more.  I also want to enstill most importantly a love of God and a connection to Heaven.   I have tried various homeschool ideas, but what we are using this year is Charlotte Mason along with Montessori education.  There will be a lot of reading and studying, but it tailors easily to the desires of what the kids want to learn and the structure is more play and experiential learning.  All my kids are experiential learners and we are going to have fun this year.  I am looking forward to this school year as I feel more connected to what kind of teacher I am and what kinds of learners my children are.  I think in previous years this is what I was missing in educating my children.  If you would like to learn more about these kinds of homeschooling idease here are the links. www.simplycharlottemason.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montessori_education  http://charlottemasoneducation.com/articles/introduction-to-practical-charlotte-mason-2/

36 weeks

I am officially 36 weeks today! I am really excited the baby should be making his debut here pretty soon. My belly actually measures 34.5 weeks, but the doctor says that it is good. This baby will probably be small, but that is okay. I am hoping for a May baby, even though my due date isn't until June 4th. Then we will have birthdays Jan, March, April, May, June, July and Aug. All we would need is a Feb. baby, but don't know if that is going to happen at this point. I Hope this baby comes soon, I am ready to be done being preggers and excited to hold the new little one. All the kids are excited too.
We believe we have the name for the new addition, but it can always change. As it did with little David. We didn't figure out his name until he was born. So the name for now is Samuel Melchizedek-Neri Taylor. The meaning of the name is God hears(Samuel) King of Righteousness(Melchizedek) My burning light(Neri). I was surprised to see that Neri is actually a Hebrew name. In case you care to know. We have really tried to give our children names that mean something and names that have stories with them of people who inspire and uplift. Rachel and Rebecca love to hear the stories of their name. Olivia doesn't really have a story with it but Christ used the Olive tree a lot in his teaching. David obviously, with Goliath. As he gets older he will hear all of king david, and learn a lot about repentance and how to make good choices, hopefully. Enoch as you know built Zion and was a very righteous man, as was his son, Melchizedek. Samuel, heard the call from God and served him his whole life. Sorry this is a little wordy, but I just wanted to explain a little bit behind the names, we give our children, I don't know if I've ever explained to my family why, but these are the reasons. Well we are hoping to take our little new addition to Pueblo to bless him. Hopefully we'll get to see the whole family soon.
